Making the Invisible Visible: Navigating Queer Identity in Public Space will be an intergenerational conversation bringing together key figures in the ACLU SoCal’s century of struggle for LGBTQ rights and equality. Rev. Troy Perry will join contemporary activists in a conversation moderated by an ACLU SoCal advocate discussing the evolution of protest and advocacy for LGBTQ rights. 

ASL interpreters will be provided this program.

Participant Bios

Reverend Troy Perry (Panelist) founded the Metropolitan Community Church (MCC) as a ministry for LGBTQ+ communities in Los Angeles on October 6, 1968. He also conceived of the world’s first Pride Parade and co-founded the Christopher Street West organization to launch the first Los Angeles Pride event in 1970.
