Join Rosen Turquoise Gordon (zhe/he) as zhe hosts Black Trans Trivia for the Circa: Queer Histories Festival! Trivia questions will include Black trans people of various genders, especially centering Black trans women. Topics will span historical figures and events, contemporary figures and events, film, TV, books, music, and more. 

After the trivia segment, Rosen will engage in a brief question and answer period, as well as facilitate a discussion on Black trans historical continuity, social movements, innovations, popular culture, representation, and joy. 

Come join us in learning about Black transness in an affirming environment! Everyone is welcome to attend!

About the Programmer


Rosen Turquoise Gordon (zhe/he) is a historic preservationist, predominantly conducting Black Southern oral histories. Zhe was a factotum for the Telluride Association Summer Seminar, working as a teaching assistant for Anti-Oppressive Studies. He was a Trans Mentor Project intern at the Sam & Devorah Foundation for Transgender Youth. Zhe is earning zhir Master of Arts in Africana Women’s Studies from Clark Atlanta University. Rosen earned zhir Bachelor of Arts in Women’s and Gender Studies from Florida International University, minoring in history and sociology / anthropology, and obtaining certificates in global Black studies, Latin American and Caribbean studies, and queer studies.
